This was our first and last Royal Caribbean Cruise, we've been on 2 Carnival cruses and the staff can not compare. Carnival cared for us better than any other vacation we've ever been on where as with Royal it took 4 and 5 tries to get anything done. Pushed from one "department" to another without regard for our experience. When we complained the issue was never escalated and we were told that we were not discussing it with the right department and we were instructed to get back and call their 1-800 number.
When I returned I called and explained the service we'd recieved only to be met with someone who didn't seem to be concerned with fixing the core issues and simply told us that they were sorry to hear that we hadn't enjoyed our cruise.
Carnival was the opposite for us - we thought about something that we might need and regardless of the department they seemed to be willing to do anything or go and find us the right person to do anything that we could possibly need.
The boarding was better on Royal but thats all I can really give them credit for.
