Buffet food - Not so great.

Fun :-) Lots of dancing. Good vibe.

We went on the three night cruise from Miami to the Bahamas in mid October with the Majesty of the Seas, cruise line Royal Caribbean.

It was a girlfriends getaway trip and we all had a great time. I particularly enjoyed the port stops; however, the ship experience itself was okay, not so impressive. Our rooms on the 2nd floor were really small which is fine if you don't intend to spend much time in the cabins. But if you want the luxury of relaxing in your room or even eat in, you should opt for the larger rooms. My second gripe was the terrible breakfast buffet. And to make matters worse it was hard to find tables since everyone seemed to want to eat at the same time as us. Also, I wasn't a big fan of the pool deck area wasn't appealing. And there were only two pools and two Jacuzzis in the entire ship.

The evening sit-down dining food experience was really nice. The food was delicious every night, and the waiters were all very nice and accommodating. Felt nice to be pampered! I was also really impressed with all the fun activities on the cruise. The air was very festive, with a lot of partying and dancing every night. The shows that we saw were really good especially the comedy show.

The port stops were the highlights for me. The first destination was Coco Cay, an island privately owned by Royal Caribbean. It was really cute and colorful with turquoise colored pristine water. We chose parasailing as one of our excursions ($75) which was really cool. But, if you enjoy lying by the beach or just swimming in the water, I don't think purchasing excursions for Coco Cay is really needed. There were also plentiful hammocks for relaxing.

The next day stop was at Nassau, the capital of Bahamas. For this stop I would definitely recommend an excursion. In fact I think it would be smart to research different excursions available at Nassau beforehand. We went with the Blue Lagoon beach day ($45) -- although I wish we had chosen the package that included swimming with dolphins. Our lagoon experience was fun and relaxing. However, the lagoon was very shallow - about three feet deep-- so if you are looking for a beach experience, you might want to opt for something else. There was also a water park for kids. And lots of hammocks as well. Perfect place to relax.

Overall it was a fun experience. But for next time I would rather just fly to the Bahamas and spend more time there than on the cruise.

Things I wish I knew before I cruised
1. No irons the rooms!
2. Internet service is 65 cents a minute
3. Feel free to get very formal on formal night. People get really decked out!
4. Learn the cha cha slide very well. You will need it for the late night partying.
