Itinerary: Bahamas

Just got back from our first cruise, and it was truly a blast! The Majesty of the Seas was a lot of fun and filled with things to do anytime of the day or night!

We boarded the ship on June 11, 2004, and the entire process was very easy. We did have all of our paperwork at hand, which included drivers licenses, birth certificates, our ship books (mailed to your home), etc. The process was very quick.

One thing I would recommend is taking your luggage with you with as you board, instead of sending it through with the Majesty of the Seas staff. They unload everyones luggage in the lobby of the floor in which you are staying, and luggage is everywhere. Needless to say, someone "grabbed" my luggage (as all luggage is mostly black in color, like mine was!) and it wasn't returned to me until late that evening. If I were to do it all again, I would carry all my luggage on, as many people did!

We were very impressed with the food selection on the Majesty. We ate in the formal dining room each night, but really enjoyed the Windjammer food the most. The selection was always very good. The midnight buffet is something to NOT miss! It was awesome, and such a neat atmosphere. DO NOT MISS THIS!

We snorkled in Coco Cay, and had a great time. I think the rental fee was $27.00 per person, and we literally snorkeled for hours! They give you a short "description" or "how-to", then you are on your own! It's very easy to catch onto! They do a beach BBQ which was OK. One thing to remember, do not forget your sunblock! Because you take a "ferry ship" ride from the ship to the island, it would kind of be a pain to go back and get sunblock. Plan ahead and bring your camera, sunblock, hats, etc all with you that morning!

Nassau was OK. Shopped around the markets. Went to Atlantis - wouldn't recommend. We paid for a ferry boat ride to Atlantis for $6, then walked quite a distance to get there yet! Once there, it was basically a nice casino with an aquararium. If you've ever been to Las Vegas, you've seen Atlantis (in my opinion!)

Another recommendation- if you are planning to "drink" on the ship, buy a soda "pass" (they sell these as you board the ship - I think $20), then buy your liquor from the Duty-Free shop, and make your own drinks. By purchasing a soda pass, you have unlimited access to pop. Depending how much you plan to drink, buying each drink could get expensive. We found it much more cost effective to buy a soda pass, our own liquor, and make our own drinks!

The cabins were small, but yet had enough room to move about in. We had 4 people staying in our cabin. We had two pull down beds, and two regular beds. We were hardly in our cabin - only to sleep. Therefore, we felt we had enough room. The bathroom is quite small, as is the shower, but still wasn't a major problem. Our room attendant was awesome and THROUGHLY cleaned our room twice a day! It was a great benefit, especially having 4 people in one room.

All of the entertainment on the ship was a lot of fun - especially the Newlywed game, the comedian, Majesty of the Seas Chorus Line team, etc.

All and all, it was a great time, and I can't wait to go again. Feel free to email if you have any questions. . .
