Itinerary: Bahamas

Overall the cruise and the staff were excellent. The ship was very clean looking and the stateroom was perfect considering you are on a ship, but everything we needed was there.

There were many choices with respect to food. For breakfast we chose to go to the buffet, rather to the restaurant since at the restaurant you had to sit with other people (tables of 6 people). I’m not a morning person and I like to have peace and quiet so my husband and I opted for the Windjammer Café where we could seat ourselves wherever we pleased and did not have to sit with other people as in the other restaurant (Mikado).

During dinner time we had the 6:00 pm seating and we decided to go to the Mikado restaurant since the food was much much better than the buffet at Windjammer, but again we had to sit with other people at our prearranged table. I did not like this since it was our honeymoon, but we met some nice people some that was okay. The food at this restaurant was excellent! It looked and tasted amazing. The waiters were very helpful.

The entertainment was okay, lots of dancing and singing. They also have a disco which was a lot of fun.

In Coco Cay we went snorkeling, which was awesome. But bring your own equipment if you have it, so you won’t have to pay. The water was very murky close to the beach because a lot of people snorkel there so you have to go further out. There’s a sunken plane and ships that you can see.

As for Nassau we walked to see the Queen’s Staircase, the water tower, the Fort and some other things. It’s all free if you are able to walk for a few hours – everything is very close so no need to spend money on tours unless you’re too lazy to walk. There’s free maps available as you get off the ship so grab one and start walking! Afterwards we took the ferry to Paradise Island ($ 3 each way) and to Atlantis. If you’re in a rush take the cab because we waited for 25 minutes for the ferry to get some people together and go, but I didn’t mind. In Atlantis check out the underwater aquarium – it’s worth it. But we did not buy any tours – again, we just walked in and walked around. The only place you cannot go it to the pool areas, but understandably it’s for the guests of the hotel.

After coming home I still felt like I was on the ship – my head was spinning a bit but it went away in a day. The whole trip was amazing and I would recommend it.
