This was my 2nd cruise and my husband's 1st cruise.
We left from the Port of Miami on April 11th. Getting onto the boat was a
breeze! We were aboard by 1:30pm. I recommend getting an early flight if
possible so you can enjoy getting on the boat long before it sails.
Dinner the 1st night was good. The service from the staff was fantastic. I read
a lot of cruise reviews that had a lot of negative comments from the Majesty of
the Seas but we didn’t seem to have any problems at all.
The boat was a little rocky the 1st night. (Just take Dramamine and you will be
fine.)
We woke up Tues morning and we were at Nassau. We went on the Thriller Powerboat
ride in Nassau then headed to the Straw Market. The people there are not that
pushy. It was fun to bargain with them. They will lower there prices! Take
smaller bills with you. I think that Nassau was a little dirty though. Don’t
think I will go back there again. But, it was fun to see.
Tuesday night was our formal night. They had photo props set up on the 4th
floor. (Check the Compass for times). This was fun! We had our picture taken a
lot. You do not have to buy any of the pictures. We enjoyed the formal dinner.
Our waiters were great! They remembered what we had to drink and brought it to
us without us asking! The desserts were fantastic.
The captain had said that they hoped to be able to stop at Coco Cay which is
there Private Island on Wed. We were hoping so too!
We woke up Wed and we were off on the 1st tender (a smaller boat) to go to the
island! AHHHHHHHHHHH! Paradise! It wasn’t a very big island and I was afraid
that it would be really crowed with the ship being full. But there were plenty
of chairs and hammocks for everyone! We had rented snorkel gear and beach mats.
I highly recommend snorkeling. You go right from the shore and only have to go
out as far as you want. My husband isn’t too keen of the water but in time we
were over 200ft out! It was so awesome to see the fish swimming around you. Then
we used the floating mats a lot too! They were a nice way to relax and not get
too hot! The water is a little cool at first but it doesn’t take long to adjust!
The only thing I was irritated about was some little kid came and took my
floating mat! I can’t believe that the parents would let their kids do that!
After all we had paid for the use of them and some kids just took it!!! The
picnic lunch was good. I had a couple braids put in my hair. And we bought a few
things. Not as cheap as the Straw Market in Nassau. We stayed at Coco Cay until
the last ferry back to the boat! This was our favorite Port! Wish we had more
time there! So beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We left Coco Cay and headed for Key West. We docked around 10am. We had booked
the Trolley Ride. (Not worth the $). Go into town and use the Trolley ride that
you can get off and back on again. Key West was ok. We walked to the Southern
Most Point of the US. A lot of shops and bars here. Wouldn’t care to go back.
All in the entire cruise was a fantastic experience! You could eat 24hrs day if
you wanted too! We would choose the 2nd seating for dinner if we went on a
cruise again. The room was small but big enough for 2 people. Besides we were
only in there to sleep and change clothes. The staff were all very nice and the
food was good. The shows at night were a lot of fun! Karaoke was funny to go to!
The ship was in good shape. There is a lot to do and see! I would recommend
Royal Caribbean to my family and friends!
