WOW… first time cruiser and had a blast. This was a 39 and holding birthday
cruise and a mommy sabbatical with my best friend. I read many reviews on this
site so I thought I would add one too.. they were all helpful in their own way.
Let me just say anyone with motion sickness just go to the dr and get the patch
that goes behind your ear you will be fine… I have awful motion sickness… I
can’t read in the car or even talk to anyone in the backseat while the car is
moving… had the patch on and never a problem.. you will feel the ship move… so
come prepared … and you will have a great time!
We boarded the ship around noon. Check in was so easy no problem. They take your
picture when you board. I brought a carry on as so many suggested with bathing
suit, meds etc. all though our luggage was at a room before dinner so no
problems. We were in our room by 1:00. It is a small room but you store your
luggage under your bed and we hung everything up. Then up to deck 11 where the
pool and food is. Oh and around 4:30 you will have to get your life vest from
your room and go to your Muster stations.. mustering is mandatory due to if the
ship was having trouble you go to your station to get off the boat. You will
have some papers in your room when you enter with a lot of information.
Deck 11 is the happening place… pools, food and drinks… party time! Everything
is nice… and I did not know the pools were salt water… jumped in and whew...
that was a bit of a shocker. The food was always good and the drinks too…
Bahamas mama’s and Miami vices… those were our favorites.
I would recommend a late or second seating for dinner, you are never rushed for
dinner . At dinner we went to the dining room where we were seated with 4 ladies
… they were a riot! Could not have had better dinner companions. Our waiter
Petar (peter) from Bulgaria was wonderful and the food was always good… nothing
gourmet but good.
I don’t think this is stressed enough… go to the shows in the Chorus Line
lounge… they were wonderful!!! “Boogie Wonderland” and “The beat goes on” were
the shows we had and they were excellent. I would recommend anything they do in
the Chorus Line lounge … definitely try to get to shows or whatever it is going
on in there! We frequented there a lot!
COCO CAY!! WE LOVED CoCo Cay!! We snorkeled and kayaked there. I probably would
not kayak there again though… you really don’t see anything you are basically
just paddling around. I highly recommend the snorkeling though. They have a
plane wreck and a ship wreck you snorkel out to - very nice.
Nassau is over rated… nothing great about it. We did the Yellow Bird tour and
that was great they take you out to Blackbeards island and it was great… WOW I
still can’t get over the beautiful colors of the water… this is a definite do
again.
We could never remember what deck had what on it… we were always like “what deck
was that on” . The ship is very nice and very clean. There was so much to see
and to I will tell you on a 3 night 4 day cruise you just can’t do it all.
One thing we were not advised about was… you have to pack your luggage the night
before your last day and have it out in the hall of your cabin by midnight so
they can take it and you have to be out of your stateroom by 8am the next day.
When you leave your cabin you go to a public area like the chorus line lounge.
This was not awful but I wish I would of known about it just so I was not so
shocked. Oh and the elevators are really slow… fyi.
All in all we had a blast the crew was wonderful and the ship was great.
