Majesty of the Seas Cruise Review
My wife and I cruised for the very first time aboard the Majesty of the Seas, for our 30th wedding anniversary, January 30 - February 3, 2006. While I had seven + different reasons why I would not like cruising before, those perceptions are over for us now. We arrived on the ship at noon on Monday, and were able to place our carry-on luggage in our room immediately, as the room was available, room 3000, at the front of the ship. We had a great buffet lunch in the Windjammer cafe on the 11th floor, the fish served made us optimistic that the food would be excellent. The state room is smaller in size, somewhat tight, but once I figured out how to get the suitcases under the bed, we were just fine. While the weather was so-so prior in Miami Beach, the weather in the Bahamas was spectacular, temps about 78 degrees, and water temp about 70, not bath water, but for this New Jersey couple in January, who could complain. The dinners aboard ship are excellent, and we eat out a lot, the food is as good as a 3 star restaurant, the service and entertainment are top notch. We saw three shows, and the piano player, rock band and night club are all fun choices, The private island, CocoCay was another beautiful day, and although the ship was filled to capacity, chaise lounges were very available, and zero lines for lunch or the return shuttle. What a view of the Majesty as you sit on a private Bahamas island. A great adventure, that left us dreaming of another cruise !
Overall, what's not to like ? Excellent food and service, great ports for a short cruise, and all ages of very nice people aboard.
Royal Caribbean quite impressive.
