Itinerary: Western Caribbean
I had an absolutely amazing time aboard the mariner of the Seas. The Ship was
incredibly beautiful, and the crew and staff aboard were fanominal. Every Night
we were served a wonderful 3 corse meal (and your always welcome to have more
then just 1 of any course) from the best waiter and assistant waiter I have ever
had. The shows were also great. Our Cruise Director, Becky, always started and
ended the show with her amazing energy and upbeat personality. The Royal
Carribean Singers and Dancers as well as our Cruise Director had amazing talent.
I was blown away by the one show called Pure Energy that took us back to the
rock f the 80's. Also the 3 comedians we saw at 3 of the shows were very
entertaining and hilarious. I even got to see the legend group of the 50s and
60s known as The Platters perform many of their hit songs.
Our Ports of call were much much fun. In Labadee my famly and I relaxed on the
beautiful secluded beach area and swam in the crystal clear ocean waters (yes
water is supposed to be clear and blue.) Our Second stop was in Ohos Rios,
Jamaica. My family and I went on an afternoon river tubbing excersion here,
which was so much fun. Becky and a few other members of the staff joined us on
this which made it even more fun.(when I was in Jamaica not even a year ago we
swam with dolphins and climbed the Duns River Falls, all a part of our cruise
excursion.) The next port of call was Geogetown, Grand Cayman. I did most of my
shopping here as its one of the greatest shopping attractions of the western
carribean. My mom and stepdad liked the cheap cost of liqur here and brought
back some. In Georgetown the locals were very friendly and never pushed items
onto you like those in labadee and jamaica. Our Final stop was Cozumel, Mexico.
Unfortunately the weather was very overcast and stormy so I only spent close to
an hour on land. I bought some nice things there. (Also the last time I went to
Cozumel we took an excursion to see the Mayan Ruines, it was a great experience
that you shouldnt miss out on.)
Overall the entire Cruise Vacation was amazing. Having over 4000 people on the
ship was quite allright because of the enormous size of it so I have nothing to
complain about in that department. I did however like the early seating on the
last cruise compared to late seating this time, only because of the long lines
to wait for pictures on formal nights. Having activities to do on board such as
mini golf, a rock climbing wall, a day spa, fittness room and track, multiple
swimming pools and hot tubs, ice skating on the indoor rink, shows at night, ice
shows, kids and teens club activites with adventure ocean, roller skating rink,
movie theter, midnight buffet, parties for all ages, teen and adult clubs, and
the many many more activities like the belly flop competition made my week one
I'll remember forever.
A cruise with Royal Carribean is great for people of all ages and Is something
you shouldnt miss out on. The Royal Carribean motto GET OUT THERE is something
you should always keep in mind as well as Beckys motto...Whatever you do, do it
with a smile. So on my Cruise I definately got out there, and did it all with a
smile. : )
