This was our first cruise, and we started out in a grand style. Mariner of the Seas is a beautiful ship. The entertainment every night was good, the restaurant are very nice and the food was very good, but I would have to say not excellent. The main dinners are much better than the Windjammer & Jade's breakfasts or lunches. Overall I have to say good food. The rooms are extremely nice and having never cruised before I was quite impressed with their size. My husband and I had a balcony room and our daughters had a promenade room, which they really liked. The room attendants left us with towels in the shapes of animals everynight which was very cute. The service was fantastic. Our waiter Alex and his assistant Gonzolo were great. They did an excellent job. The midnight buffet was unbelievable unfortunately, we were all still full from dinner and only looked, did not eat. I couldn't, just too much food. This really was an extremely nice trip. Boarding and departing went smooth with no problems. It is a little bit of a hassle waiting for your luggage the first day, especially if you didn't pack a bathing suit in your carry on. But now I know. Pool area was great with plenty of seating, we never had a problem find chairs and we traveled with relatives so there was 9 of us. Having never cruied before I would choose a different itinerary. We stopped at Nassau (6 hours) not really enough time to do much. St. Thomas and St. Maartin. St. Thomas & St. Maartin were beautiful I would go back in a minute. But from Thursday at 5:00PM to Sunday 8:00AM we sailed and it was just too long to not see land for us. Although there is so much to do on the ship the weather isn't the best it's a long time to be on a ship. Especially if your not a drinker, gambler, dancer, singer or power shopper. Our last day we thought we be spent at the pool soaking up the sun, instead I wandered the ship due to the rain and clouds that followed us the last day. I would like 4 stops on a 7 day cruise much better. Overall great trip, a little pricey. Broke down and shopped in St. Thomas (So worth it). It is a trip we will remember. P.S. Shoe excursions were nice. Kayaked and Hiked and Snorkeled. Great experience.
