Cruises have to be the best vacations on earth. All
the things to do, eat, and see! All the surroundings you can never get board on
the giant "Voyager Class Ships". The crew makes you feel like you're rite at
home!
Day 1-Port Canaveral, Florida (A.K.A Hurricane Land!) Embarkation Day
-When we arrived at the port after our crazy bus ride with Jay Lowe, we were
taken into a building with two floors. Onboard the bus ride, you are asked if
you filled out all the forms necessary. If you don't have them all they have a
life time supply inside. When we entered the building we had to go through
security. Then we were taken upstairs. We then had to wait on a line for only
five minutes to get are key cards and hand in the papers we filled out. We were
finally aloud onboard the ship. Since this was my families second cruise we knew
what to expect out of our rooms. The bathrooms the size of a cabinet and the
sleeping area small but suitable. We then had to do the muster drill on deck
four at 5:15. We were standing next to the lifeboats for about 15 minutes. Then
the captain made a little speech and then dismissed us. Then we had a few hours
in-between since we had the late seating at dinner. The show that night was the
welcome aboard show. We were greeted by the cruise director, Kirk Detweiler,
singing come sail away with me. They also had a comedian, Carl Strong, who was
very funny, next Duo Claudio who were acrobatically performers. Then at 11:30 we
went to the Island A Gogo parade which was fun. Then we walked around a bit and
headed back to the room for sleep.
Day 2-Nassau, Bahamas
Early wake up today. It was off to rainbow reef snorkeling for us! The fish were
very pretty and I recommend it to any age group! We arrived back at the dock at
3:30 and met my husband. We then headed to the Atlantis hotel which was
beautiful. We were only allowed in the lobby but it still looked very nice. We
left Nassau at 5:30. Tonight's show was the Platters. They only had one original
platter but they performed very well.
Day 3-At Sea
Today was a day onboard. We spent a few hours down by the pool and played some
minigolf. Then we headed to the lotus lounge to see the jewelry rendition thing.
Tonight's show was a Broadway Review. They had various songs from Moving' Out
and a few other shows I can't remember. I live in New Jersey and love Broadway
so this show was great! Then they had the first of the two midnight buffets.
This one was by the pool. They had a few ice sculptures, fruit carvings and
animals. They had a lot of food to go around!
Day 4-St.Thomas, U.S.V.I
Today was beautiful St.Thomas. This was my favorite island of the three. We took
and island tour and saw Mountain Top, which had a great view of the island,
Megan's bay beach and then a couple other places. Then the drive took us back to
the shopping district. We got back to the ship at 6:00.Tonights show was the ice
skating show called "Ice Under The Big Top". It was great and I give a perfect
10! That was over in time for the second seating show. It was called Pure Energy
which had various song from the 80's. Then after that we had a special treat. We
had a little party thing for being on a Royal Caribbean ship more than once. The
captain made a speech and the were drinks and hour d'ourves. Then at 12:00 there
was an adult comedy show with Carl Strong. He was very funny. He's having a
comedy special on show time sometime this fall. Then it was off to sleep! Zzzzzz...
Day 5-At Sea
Today was pool games with Kirk! They had the Olympics on the pool and sports
decks. My family had a lot of fun. They had basketball, volleyball, and horse
races! Then we relaxed by the pool for the rest of the day. Tonight's show was
great! It was a imitation of the Beatles performed by a band who acts, talks,
looks, and performs just like the Beatles! Tonight was the Grand Gala buffet in
the dining room. They had beautiful carvings made out of ice and wax. The also
had watermelon carvings and fruit animals. They were so cute!
Day 6-At Sea
Today we went ice skating witch was ok. There were a lot of first timers and it
was a pretty small ice rink. That was over in a half hour. More relaxing by the
pool! 5:30 rolls around and we get ready for dinner. This was my favorite dinner
of them all. Tonight's show was the farewell show. It had a different comedian
who was very funny (he was good for families unlike the other comedian), then
Kirk, the cruise director sang a song. He has a wonderful voice! Then he sang
another song with the royal Caribbean singers and dancers. Then Duo Claudio
performed again. This time even better! Then Kirk showed his "A Day In A Life Of
A Cruise Director". It was funny. Then the cruise in review video. Finally, the
crew came out, including the captain. That concluded the last show. Then after
that there was the farewell show called Enchanted Knights. After that we walked
around the ship for the last time and then hit the sack!
Food- The food was excellent and give it a perfect 10. Only the breakfast
and lunch never changed but even at that those meals were good. The dinners were
outstanding! They had mahi-mahi, fillet mignon, and so much more that I can't
remember! The desserts were the ultimate best! They had chocolate cake, baked
Alaska, a delicious soufflé, and scrumptious crème Brule! The Windjammer which
was buffet style had less selections but was better if you were in a hurry. To
go where I don't know. All the food was the best of the best!
Entertainment- The entertainment was excellent. I also give that a big
10! The Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers were the best! The variety of shows
was perfect! It was great for all ages and was very well put together!
The entire cruise was so good there's no words to describe it! The waiters were
so nice they made you feel like they were your very own personal butlers! A
special word to the cruise director, Kirk Detweiler. He was funny, energetic,
had a great voice, and was young and very upbeat. He had a great voice and has a
cd called random white boy. I have the cd and it is outstanding! He is supposed
to come out with another in February 2005 called shades of wrong. Oh, and he's
cute too! I would definitely go on another Royal Caribbean cruise again. I wish
I could do this all over again. Enjoy!
