First of all, we had a great time on our cruise and will definitely do it again. Royal Caribbean rocks!

The ship looked so festive with its holiday decorations! We were in stateroom 6518 on the 6th floor – better than the 7th because there was no walkway to block our view or people to intrude on our privacy. The room was small but comfortable and clean. All of the staff members were friendly, and we got excellent service from our stateroom attendant. We brought a lot of bottled water and had no need for the expensive water and soda in the room.

The food was plentiful but not the best quality. We spent a lot of time at the Windjammer Café buffets. As for the dining room, we chose the late seating and ended up selecting a different table when we checked in the first day, which worked out because we liked our fellow diners. The staff was so accommodating – one night I ordered lamb shank, took a bite, changed my mind, and was given the salmon dish instantly. You can also order more than one appetizer and dessert at dinner – go for it! They had the best sugar-free desserts I’ve ever tried and fresh fruit was always available.

We signed up for a tour in Ensenada but it was cancelled, so we walked to downtown and strolled along the main drag. And it was a drag - every 20 steps we were approached by tiny poor children trying to sell us things. Moreover, neither of us are big drinkers so the bars held little appeal. Next time I would take an excursion to the wineries and get out of downtown.

Favorite activities: Bolero’s for dancing/live music, basketball and ping pong, walks on Deck 12, bean bag toss, sexy leg contest, belly flop contest, Captain’s welcome reception.

We pre-paid our tips on the second day and added a little extra for our stateroom attendant and waiter. So easy!

Minor complaints: no unsalted butter, photo prints were too expensive, and debarking was a bit of a nightmare. We opted for express check-out at 7am b/c we didn’t want to give up our luggage the night before or wait around for our group to be called the next morning. We encountered a sea of people and it took us 30 minutes to finally get off the ship. Next time I’d line up at 6:30 or 6:45.
