This cruise was a very nice weekend get-a-way!

Food was pretty good. It was not the best I've had but I was not complaining. Breakfast was very good, the pizza place was decent, but not even close to carnival pizza. Only midnight snack is the pizza place and room service. I was surprised that there was no 24 hour ice cream!

Our stateroom was very small, with no shelves or areas to put small things. The desk with the small chair has is full of mini bar and cruise books that take up way to much room! The shower was so small; but it was always very clean!

If you go to Coco Cay and want to be alone or seprated from the crowded areas then just walk down the beach (ocean on your left past the aqua park) and you will find that no one uses that part of the beach. Its the most beautiful part and for some reason noone decides to either walk that far or noone discovers it. It's a bit further from the tender boat dock and food buffet but worth it.

If you have sailed with RCL before make sure you sign up to be a Crown and Anchor member. This is helpful at check-in. The RCL member noticed right away that I was with a member and she put me in the priority boarding line (we didnt have to wait in a huge line). So our check-in was about 20min long at the busiest time.

Our stateroom was an interior room, and it was very small. Interior staterooms on older Carnival ships are much larger.

The cheapest drink prices are 4.95 for beer and 5 or 6 for mojitos. If you want free drinks, be sure to attend the captains reception party the day of the formal dinner. This is where you recieve free drinks for 1 hour!

Service was awesome, this is the only thing that varys greatly in the dining room on any cruise. Either you get a great server or you don't. Our server was such a nice guy and a smart man that we almost offered him a job. Service at the bars was great and everyone was very friendly and upbeat (this can be hard when you're doing the same routine over and over again).

The activities were nice. The shows where very good but not excellent. The dancing show was decent, 1 or 2 of the dancers were horrible though; I have no idea how they casted. The singers and comedian were great! I felt that bingo was a rip off! If you wann play bingo be ready to pay a minimum of 20 dollers for 3 cards.

The shows were good, the entertainment on the newer ships are always better for some reason but the shows on the monarch were better than I thought they would be! 1 or 2 of the dancers needed some practice, but singers were very good!

Food in the buffets were decent: burgers were terrible, 24/7 pizza was OK (there is nothing like the Carnival cruise pizza). The dining room food was good, no compliants, excellent serivce again. The midnight buffet was OK but nothing great. The ship was very clean and in good condition for being a bit older.

Cococay is awesome, watch out for jelly fish though! I got stung by one, only hurt for a few min.

Overall great cruise!
