This was the 5th cruise I've been on and the 3rd time I've been to Nassau. I really wanted to experience something different than the beaches and snorkeling (though those are pretty cool). This time I found Sail Nassau and had an awesome experience. I would say it was the highlight of my trip. It was a 2 hour sailing tour on a 76ft America's Cup sailing boat.

I was a little nervous at first, as I have never been on a sail boat before, but the captain and crew made me feel very comfortable once on board. We sailed passed the cruise ships and out into the open ocean. It was my job (as well as the other passengers) to help raise the sail. We turned handles called 'grinders' to raise this massive sail. It's tough work!! But so worth it! According to the captain we 'had good winds' that day and our boat was leaned over to the side! This scared me at first, but I was assured it was normal and all part of the experience. We cruised in front of Atlantis and Nassau for about 2 hours before heading back in. The water is so beautiful and blue! It was definitely an awesome time and I wish we could have stayed out longer!
