This was a wonderful way for family members to celebrate a retirement, two graduations, and the joy of spending time together without responsibilities. Our ages ranged from my 65 to my 13-year-old granddaughter. There was something for everyone. This ship would not be my choice when traveling with my husband because it was a young crowd and the activities reflected that. Rock climbing was a treat for the younger members of our party, but it wasn't something I'd like to do. My only complaint was with the scheduling of activities. For example, I would have enjoyed the wine tasting at 4 p.m. but wasn't interested at the time it was offered (closer to 11 p.m.) After our 5:30 early seating, there was little to do until the 9 p.m. show unless you like gambling.Embarking and disembarking was very efficient. I was amazed at how easy and quickly we finished compared to other cruises I've taken. Our waiter Johan was wonderful. Food and service was excellent. In San Diego we took our own trolley tour and were happy we did. The ships excursion costs the same ($24) but only lasts 2 1/2 hours. We walked across the street to purchase our tickets that allowed us to get off and on whenever we wanted. Our tour took 6 hours. Drinks on the patio of the Hotel Coronado was the highlight, with shopping at the Horton Mall a close second. I opted for a tram tour on Catalina Island and others in our party went snorkling. Some bought the ship excursion and others waited to purchase at the dock. The only difference was the cost. I had visited Ensenada twice before, but I hardly recognized it. So much has been done to make tourists feel comfortable. Again, those in our group who took a guided tour to the blow hole, which was offered to them on the shuttle into, were very pleased. I was in the group that decided to walk into town. Some shopping and a margarita was a fine way to spend a leisurely day. Before the cruise ended, we were already making plans for the next family cruise.
