This is our second cruise on this line. The previous ship was the Viking Serenade. I have to say the first cruise was a lot better than the second.

I'm not sure if it was the emphasis on family cruising or cost cutting measures that was the reason. There did not seem to be as many shows or activities. The food was mediocre at best. The service was adequate and the service personnel in the dining room was exceptional, however, some of the room attendant were surly when asked questions of them.

I also was dismayed by the policy of allowing jeans to be worn at the evening meal, even on formal night.

On the first cruise, I received some Shipshape coupons and used them for a t-shirt. I was bothered by the increased requirement of coupon for obtaining a shirt and the shirt was not as good as the first one.

I think for our next cruise we will select a line that caters to a more mature crowd.
