My husband and I joined his brother and brand new wife on this cruise. We had a
blast. I was a little wary because of some of the reviews I had read, but we had
a great time. Boarding the ship was a breeze. We went right up to the Windjammer
Cafe for lunch. There were many tasty options. I had the most delicious fish,
grilled wahoo in a teriyaki glaze, and I don't like fish. It was crowded in
there, and we couldn't find a table near the window, but we did find one.
Rather than wait for our luggage to be delivered, we grabbed our own from the
common area on our floor and headed to our stateroom. Our stateroom was very
clean an comfortable. Small, but unless you want to spend a lot of time in
there, very adequate. The shower had great water pressure. Our attendant, Omar,
introduced himself and then left us to ourselves.
Dinner that first night, and each night after, was delicious. It wasn't a five
star restaurant, but it was definitely good. Our waitstaff, Renato and Elmarie,
were fabulous and we enjoyed talking with them.
After dinner each night, we would relax on the deck. A couple of times we
watched dolphins play in the water.
There were fun games to be played and lots of relaxing to be had. The ports of
call were great. The USS Midway is, surprisingly, not to be missed! And Catalina
is beautiful. We slept in on the Mexico day, an climbed the rockwall.
I almost forgot, Sorrento's Pizza Bar was great!! for late night pizza. We'd
scoot next door and watch folks sing karaoke.
All in all, we had a great time, and are planning a cruise with our whole family
on the same ship next year.
A great experience.
