MUCH TO MY DISMAY, THIS SHIP DID NOT MEET MY EXPECTATIONS. TO CLARIFY, THE SHIP WAS ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT, AND UPON ARRIVAL I WAS IN AWE OF ITS SIZE AND BEAUTY. HOWEVER, THE STAFF LEFT MUCH TO BE DESIRED, AND THE FOOD WAS ONLY MARGINAL. UNTIL TUESDAY OF OUR CRUISE I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THE STAFF WAS MERELY NEW, AND NOT RUDE OR UNWILLING T GO THAT EXTRA MILE. HOWEVER UPON GETTING A CASE OF STOMACH UPSET, ALL THAT CHANGED. MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE "GENERAL STORE" ONLY TO FIND THAT ANY STOMACH MEDICATIONS HAD BEEN REMOVED ON PURPOSE TO FORCE YOU TO REPORT ANYTHING, EVEN MINOR TO THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT.

AFTER HIS TRIP TO DECK ONE TO ASK FOR SOME IMMODIUM (APPARENTLY I WAS SUFFERING FROM TOO MANY STRANGE FOODS FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE AND A BIT OF SEASICKNESS) I WAS INFORMED I HAD TO REPORT TO MEDICAL.2 HOURS LATER, I HAD BEEN INSULTED, TREATED LIKE I HAD A STRANGE DISEASE AND FORCED TO TAKE AN INJECTION (FOR NAUSEA WHICH I TOLD THEM 4 TIMES I DID NOT SUFFER FROM) IN ORDER TO RECEIVE IMODIUM FROM THE DOCTOR. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY I WAS CONFINED TO MY QUARTERS WITH MY HUSBAND AND 7 YEAR OLD (WHO HAD NOT BEEN SICK AT ALL) FOR 72 HOURS.

I WAS FURIOUS. BEING A MOTHER I WOULD NEVER KNOWINGLY SPREAD A VIRUS, AND WAS FULL AWARE THAT MY ILLNESS WAS NOT WHAT THEY ASSUMED IT WAS. IT TOOK US UNTIL 9 AT NIGHT TO GET A DINNER, STEAK SERVED ON PAPER PLATES WITH PLASTIC FORKS. ALSO, WE WERE TOLD IF ANY OF US LEFT THE ROOM WE WOULD BE THROWN OFF THE SHIP AT THE NEXT PORT. UPON VISITING THE DR THE NEXT AM AND LOOKING 100% HEALTHY, HE NOTICED A PATCH BEHIND MY EAR (WHICH WAS LISTED AND CIRCLED ON MY MEDICAL FORMS) AND ADVISED ME NOT TO TOUCH IT AND THEN TOUCH MY MOUTH OR FOOD AS TERRIBLE DIARRHEA WOULD RESULT.

I ASKED HIM ABOUT MY PROBLEM I HAD, AND HE APOLOGIZED SAYING "HONESTLY HE DIDN'T SEE THAT ON MY CHART." SO, OUR VACATION WAS RUINED FOR NOTHING. I HAVE REC'VD NO APOLOGY, AND THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY MEDICAL RECORDS 3 TIMES. WE WILL SEE THEM IN COURT. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND IT WILL HAVE TO BE IN MIAMI. THAT'S FINE.. I LIKE THE WARM WEATHER IN THE WINTER TIME. I URGE YOU..TAKE ANY QUESTIONABLE MEDS WITH YOU.. EVEN OUR CABIN BOY TOLD US THAT HORRIBLE EVENING " HAD I KNOWN I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU DON'T GO.. IF ITS A HEADACHE ITS NORWALK LATELY".

I THOUGHT CONFINING YOU TO YOUR ROOM WAS ILLEGAL.. AND I THOUGHT REFUSAL OF MEDICAL RECORDS WAS ALSO. THEY ARE GETTING AROUND THE RECORDS BY REFUSING TO LET US PAY. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS ROUTINE WITH THEM.. ITS A WAY TO HIDE ALL THE DIRTY LAUNDRY. THEY PAY THE BILL, AND YOU HAVE NO PROOF OF WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY CAN SAY THEY ARE ILLNESS FREE.
