We went with family who had been on the Oasis before and we had a great time. I know I will be repeating this a lot below, but we have 6 children and that makes taking a vacation different. We need double what an average family needs. We went on the Carnival Dream last year and had an easy vacation and a wonderful time and wanted to go on a cruise again for vacation. We picked the Oasis at the in laws request becasue they went before and loved it. The boat is amazing and must be seen to be believed, but there is too much thinking, planning, and waiting than there was on the Dream. This would be a wonderful cruise for people who like planning ahead or waiting in lines, but not for us.

I am not a "foodie" and I will eat just about anything. But the dining room food was average at best. The pork and chicken were always over cooked, but you have to realize that when cooking for 3000 people in a sitting compromises have to be made. The food in the smaller restaurants was amazing, including the buffet upstairs, though some of it had a surcharge. If we go again we would probably skip the dining room altogether.

We have 6 children and needed 2 rooms. They were OK, but tight. We previously went on the Carnival Dream and had a "family state room " that had more storage and an extra half bath. If we go on the Oasis again I would not take the children or get a third stateroom. The cabin attendent was awesome. Never saw him, but the room was always clean and ready for the day or night.

We are a large family, 2 adults and 6 children, and always have to plan ahead. This is why we like cruising. The last cruise was the Carnival Dream and what we liked was the fact that you could go where you wanted and do what you wanted. We decided at dinner to see the show after. On the Oasis, because there are so may people you have to plan ahead and get tickets or wait in line, If you are OK with planning the vacation ahead of time then the activites are amazing, but if you want to go on vacation and fly by the seat of your pants, this is not the ship for you.

Loved the boat and the stops, Getting on and off the boat was painless. Overall, if you have a large family or group, I would look else where, unless you have someone in the group who likes to plan ahead. We had a great time and will be on a cruise again in the future, but if I am taking all 6 kids we are going on another boat.
