We didn't get to go on our cruise....
I am writing this review to let everyone know about the superior customer service my family received from RCI during a very difficult time.
Their customer service representative (Sue) was very professional and considerate and she went out of her way to help us.
Our story starts on April 22,2011. We purchased our 7 Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Oasis of The Seas with the sail date of March 24,2012. On March 22,2012 when our bags were ready and sail passes printed – I ended up in an emergency room with acute small bowel obstruction, which if not treated is a life threatening condition. I had a major abdominal surgery performed the next day and needed to remain in a hospital for another several days.
My son called RCI the same day and explained what had happened. He spoke with Sue and was asked to provide them with supporting documentation and advised that upon review of these documents RCI may be able to refund our money within 3 business days. I am finally home today and I was very happy to see that our refund has already been processed.
I have already sent my thank you letter to Royal Caribbean International for understanding our situation and refunding our money. By doing it they proved to us that RCI is not only a Big Name. It is truly a remarkable corporation with equally remarkable customer service. As soon as I feel better – I will book the same 7 Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the same ship :)
