Actually, I'm a cruise ship musician and have been for over 30 years, so I probably shouldn't be contributing an opinion here, but I've just come off the OASIS OF THE SEAS, and I have to write that after well over 40 ships, this is by far the most breath-taking.

My personal favorite "neighborhood" is Central Park, where I spent many non-working hours, reading, people-watching, breathing fresh air. Of all the neighborhoods on the ship, this was definitely my favorite. As a musician, I'm sensitive to ambient music, and this was the one area of the ship (accessible to me) with little to no background music. I have never understood why everywhere you go you have to have recorded music in the background...sometimes in the foreground! Even in Central Park, music from the Chops Grille restaurant was playing, even when the restaurant was closed! Cruise lines should provide some areas where there is peace and quiet! But all in all, the OASIS is definitely an oasis!

Good to very good. Chops Grille of course is amazing. The lobster tails in the Seafood Shack were hard to eat because they weren't separated from the shells, as they are in most seafood restaurants. Pizza at Sorrento's was very good. The Windjammer served a wide variety of food, and I never had a disappointing meal there.

Tiny, but my cabin was in the crew area. But even by crew standards it was way too small for two people, particularly for musicians who provide their own wardrobe. Musicians don't get staterooms, but apparently and from what I observed by looking in open doors when stateroom attendants were cleaning, the guest accommodations were very good. The loft suites are beautiful.

Loud!

As a long-time cruiser (albeit as a musician, not as a guest), I often don't bother going ashore, having been to most of the ports countless times. A ship like the OASIS has so many amenities, though, that I enjoyed just being on board.
