This was a 3-generation cruise and was positively phenomenal for each and every one...from the ultra-easy boarding, to the 4 fine staterooms (all balconies). Staff were positively wonderful, including Demetro our steward and Julius at the Trellis bar...plus 99% of all others. We never felt crowded with 5,400 others on board. The older ones of us probably liked Central Park the best; although the Viking Crown Lounge was a close 2nd. Never had a problem finding a sun lounge chair. The mid-age group loved the variety of things to do and entertainment. The younger group of 5, from 12-15 years old, loved being able to go off on their own, held a mini golf tournament daily, loved the Wave Rider, zip line, etc. Always had soft ice cream multiple times a day. Adults bought the drink package - well worth it. The dining room was able to accommodate all 13 of us at 1 table .. we had "My Time Dining". There are venues on the ship I never saw; it is so enormous, but absolutely fantastic. For us, the ship itself and being together made the cruise...

The food was good, not gourmet, but lots of choices for all meals in the various dining options. Typically did the Windjammer or Park restaurant for breakfast; always dining room for dinner.. the dinner menu always had meat, fish and pasta choices for dinner. Our waiters were wonderful, bringing special cheese plates for us to nibble on. The service was wonderful.. Folks said the Solarium was great for lunch... Sorrento's pizza was really good. We didn't do any specialty restaurants, although we considered it. We're just not sushi folks and didn't do the Italian, as there just wasn't time. We had breakfast room service - absolutely perfect and absolutely on time!

Our stateroom was just fine. We love having a balcony; it opens up the room and a great place to relax, have breakfast or read a book, watching the world go by. Our stateroom attendant, Demetro, was wonderful and so very helpful. He went out of his way to be of help whenever we asked for something. There were plenty of hangers in the closet, which is sometimes an issue on a ship. And, adequate nooks and crannies for storing things.

The 5 youngsters, ages 12-15, and all responsible, polite young people, loved all the activities - from miniature golf, to the zip line, to the Wave Rider and the shows. We never worried about their safety as they went off on the own much of the time. The adults had some fun in the casino and there were bars and drink venues I never even saw, but the ones I did had every type of music to suit anyone's pleasure. There are quiet places and noisy places - something for everyone. Those that used the Fitness Center thought it was great - plenty of equipment that was readily available. The jogging track was also a plus.

We went to Labradee, Jamaica and Cozemel... The youngsters and the 40 year olds went snorkeling in Jamaica and loved it and paid to enjoy an hour at the water park in Labradee. Other than that we really didn't do excursions. We're not really shoppers, so other than a few trinkets, we mostly walked about. We felt entirely safe in Jamaica although we didn't stray too far from the ship. In Mexico we wandered around, found a cantina, enjoyed some chips and salsa and watched the world go by for a while. Then we found a spot not far from the ship where we could sit at tables with umbrellas while the teens swam, saw more fish and had a good time. I thought the excursions seemed expensive, especially when there were 13 of us...

It was far beyond our hopes and dreams...
