The day of boarding went rather smoothly... no real issues...cleared security and was on ship by 11:30 am.

Rooms were not ready until 12;30 pm . Room was well designed with lots of care and thought on the design and size of the bath shower and closets. We had an accessible stateroom and were very happy with the " virtual balcony"...as it surpassed our expectation... Makes having an interior stateroom much more pleasant. We had very rough seas on the 1st sail date...and we had winds near 70 mph and 15-20 FOOT swells that caused a lot of discomfort and nausea for many passengers. I will never sail out of New Jersey again as the cold temps and rough seas getting to the warmer Caribbean is not worth losing 2 days ( one coming down and 1 returning in cold rough seas ) .The boat is excellently made and elegant with a decided effort to promote comfort and high tech cruisers. The food was only average...and creativity has been chosen to replace QUALITY. Not good. The port visits were good....and the Labadee experience was great...with one huge exception... The food served on Labadee by RCCL was not fit for a dog. My worst grade for their poor efforts here. Left a very poor impression.

As I stated earlier...cruisers go for the culinary experience...This was a lot of flair...but little on substance... The food was merely average...and the lack of quality food as seen on more traditional RCCL cruise ships makes me yearn for days past. RCCL needs to rethink the food especially relating to QUALITY. Not to say that the desserts and some entrees were not good...but that there was an overall impression that flash and spin was being sold instead of fine food of great quality.

The stateroom design was flawless...with the exception that our 13th decl accessible stateroom was able to hear the tiolets above flushing into the wee hours and the tub above us seemed to have someone splashing around in it at all hours. Virtual Balcony is a hit...and a great addition. Well Done.

The onboard activities were more subdued than on prior cruises. The cruise director was disappointing all week as he was in my view...arrogant, condescending to staff, and in constant need of ego stroking and had zero interest in anyone or anything other than himself. Really RCCL ? Did anyone ever really vet this guy? Poor choice for cruise director.

Labadee is a dont miss ..as is wave runners and zip line....the food on the island stinks ..and should never have been presented as an RCCL item.

Rocky seas on first day...real rough...lots of seasick passengers..and 1 older lady fell and broke her hip....The warmer days in San Juan and Labadee Haiti were great,,,great weather and great shopping and beach day.
