Itinerary: Western Caribbean

We just returned from our first cruise on Royal Caribbean cruises and in retrospect there is not one single item to fault them on. The bus ride from Houston Hobby Airport to and from was easy, Checking in, boarding and leaving was fast and efficient. While embarking we went thru only one(!) security check point compared to six in Ft. Lauderdale in the past. We boarded at noon, had lunch and when we came down the luggage was outside the cabin. The cabin itself was large enough for two people with plenty of storage space plus a lovely balcony to have an early cup of coffee on to watch the sunrise or a cocktail when the sun was over the yardarm. Our cabin steward created new pillow-sculptures every night, we were all wondering what the new sculpture would be. Out steward Anthony from Trinidad was a jewel.

The food was excellent, the waitress urged us to have seconds even on lobster or steak, the dining room service was very gracious, efficient and friendly. There was plenty of organized activity for children, so they were no underfoot and the nightclub shows for the older shows were very good.

We can only recommend sailing out of Galveston on Royal Caribbean Cruises.
