Sailing Date: June 13th, 2004
Itinerary: Caribbean

I gave this cruise to my wife for Christmas. We have been married for 23 years and had never taken a cruise or vacation without the kids.

This was the best thing we have ever done bar none.

I do not know how it could have been better. Boarding went smooth and quickly. Everyone was helpful and friendly all week long.

On this ship these people work. We never saw any of them idle.

The Edelweiss dining room runs like a precision machine.

And the food!! "everywhere" on the ship cannot be beat.

Hint- try a chocolate martini at the schooner bar.

The shows were great. There are many activities for everyone. More than we could attend in a week.

We noticed When we tendered at a port of call, we were the only ship that had our own transportation boats to and from land. We were along side two carnivale ships and they were using the (ports of call) boats to come and get them to and from the ship.

Also My Nephew and his wife went on the Rhapsody 5 months ago and told us about what a wonderful time they had.

They tried to book it again the week after we got back to take his Mom and Dad on their first cruise but it was booked up. So they (all 4) had to take a Carnivale from NewOrleans.

They got back a week after we did and told us they all had a great time but it did not compare with the Royal Caribbean Rhapsody. We are All going again next year on the Rhapsody.

It leaves out of Galveston which is also very handy, about four hours from us.
Another hint we learned.

Several hotels will let you leave your car there for the week free of charge. We stayed at the Hilton resort on the seawall the night before we were to depart. Cost us about 149.00 or less for the night. Great place and you leave your car there very secure for the week. Also they take your family and "all" your luggage to the ship and meet you there when you get back to bring you back free of charge.

It cost 60.00 to 80.00 a week to leave your car at the dock parking areas. Then you will need a taxie to get you and your luggage to the boat.

Made that 149.00 room look perty cheap to us. This Hilton is about 6 blocks from the Ship. We will do that again also. All in all this Cruise is a must do and we will do it again. We had a Great time.
