My wife and I (Linda) live in Dallas, TX and this was our 6th cruise and third on RCL. We decide to fly to Houston and took a taxi to Galveston. I do not recommend letting RCL make air arrangements as they will fly you into Houston Intercontinental which is very inconvenient and time consuming. We went into Hobby, took a taxi and it worked out great on both ends. We liked the ship very much and had a Junior Suite on Deck 8...it was worth every penny and we used our large deck a lot for relaxing, coffee and a late night drink. I'm a religious jogger and the running/walking deck was large and uncluttered...terrific early in the morning with the sun coming up. Our cabin was quite large by cruise standards and very comfortable. Our steward, Dean, was friendly and efficient and a great and funny guy. We are pool people and liked that part of ship because of ample chairs and plenty of room although the music was pretty uninspiring. Overall, the food was very good, especially in the casual Windjammer restaurant. The formal dining room is beautiful but the food was just okay...that's not meant to be negative but for some reason we like the casual area better. The ship itself is very clean and well decorated and all of the staff are just what you would expect; courteous, professional and friendly. We love Key West and were delighted to spend an afternoon and evening hanging out in our old stomping grounds. Grand Cayman was also very nice and we enjoyed the atmosphere and shopping. For us, Cozumel was a waste of time with the vendors and shop keepers so aggressive as to be distracting. We had a great time and any minor complaints we had really aren't worth mentioning. It was particularly fascinating to cruise through the Gulf of Mexico and see all the oil rigs at night...quite a sight. One last thing, the Port of Galveston was very fast and efficient and we boarded and exited with zero hassle. Great job!
