Itinerary: Western Caribbean

The Sovereign is an older ship which, according to some crew members, affords more travelers the opportunity to take a cruise. We read numerous reviews (both pro and con) prior to our departure. Factually speaking, the ship’s features are wearing badly, odors from the bathroom were a problem, and the Windjammer buffet was more like Ponderosa. We were disappointed with the food venue as we were expecting lots of our favorites like crab, shrimp and lobster. Tropical drinks were very good. The “Follies” were well done as the cast really tried to please their audience. If all the cabin stewards were like ours (Joseth), the service area got good marks. The shore excursions we chose (wave runners, snorkeling, glass-bottomed boat, and the 9:00PM champagne catamaran ride) were very enjoyable.
