The cruise was just a vacation that turned into a dream vacation for us. We booked for a 4 night 5 day vacation. On the third day we heard that hurricane Francis was coming to town. The captain announced for the safety of all of us we had to dock a day earlier. They offered us two options , take a two hundred dollar credit and try to make it home, or to sail out with them, out of the hurricanes way with no extra charge. We opted to sail, as all the people evacuated the state of Florida with no gas, no water, and everyone trying to flee. The Captain kept us informed of the storm, as we sailed around the gulf of Mexico, the service was excellent and the food superb.

We were entertained and everyone saw that we stayed comfortable. We experienced an 8-day cruise with no problems. There were 400 people who stayed on board and it was like having your own yacht. When we could not dock at Cape Canaveral, they took us to Port Everglades and had busses waiting to transport us to get our cars at Port Canaveral. It was a 5 hour ride, but it was easy to see we made the right choice as Florida was hit hard with trees, degree, and power yet gone.

I recommend this cruise line as they did not think about the money, but instead thought of safety for their passengers first. As far as excursions, we did go to shore excursions to Coco Cay where we had a beach and water sports and a wonderful cook out to enjoy.

We also went to Nassau and took a tour of the Atlantis Resort. We enjoyed the shopping and the friendliness of the people. The staff of the ship (right down to our stateroom attendant) were there for all our needs. The staterooms were a little small but were comfortable.

We enjoyed the pool and the entertainment was rated number 1, in our book. I know this is long, but I believe if I were to recommend a cruise line, it would be Royal Caribbean along the with the ship, Sovereign of the Seas. If you cruise with them you will never regret your choice.
