Due to a much needed vacation from 2 tiring children, we decided on a cruise. No
driving, no deciding where to eat at night, no phones- just peace and quiet. We
arrived at the port and were very nervous to the check in due to the fact of
previous reviews where it took hours. We had no problem at all. Parking,
checking in and boarding were simple and only took approx 30-45 minutes. We were
excited to get on the ship but were very hungry. We headed to the Windjammer for
the lunch buffet. It was great! The food there was really good for lunch. Next
we went to the pool to check it out. We were a little disappointed in the size
of the pool, but we did not use it much anyway. We were then hit up to buy
drinks. We did but it seemed like every time you turned around they wanted to
sell you a drink. We decided to check our rooms out and get rid of the carrions.
The rooms were small and at first I was a little skeptical. But after unpacking
we had adequate space. The shower was a bit tight but OK. We lounged around and
checked out the rest of the ship until dinner. We arrived at our table to meet
another couple near our age and from the same hometown as us. That was really
cool. We even hung out with them some. The food was great in the dining room but
our service was horrible. We waited over an hour to get our meal. I was
disappointed in that. The second night was 1hour and 15 minutes to get our
entree and other tables were finishing their deserts. Like I said the dining
room was a total disappointment. But over all the ship was great and we will
cruise again.
My favorite thing about the entire trip was Cocoa Cay. That is the most awesome
place. You could be as active or relaxed as you wanted to be. My husband and I
did the whole beach activities and then ate lunch. After lunch, we both grabbed
a hammock and were asleep in no time. Total relaxation!! If you want to relax go
to the opposite side of the island from where you entered. No noise!
We really enjoyed this cruise and hope to cruise again next year.
