Sovereign of the seas Cruise Review
Bahamas

Eric

I hope this information is helpful to anyone contemplating taking this cruise.

We had an inside cabin on deck 5. In response to other reviews, you will sense a slight sewer smell as you walk through the corridors of the ship. But as we set sail, the odor seemed to go away. The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable.

The food was pretty good in the Windjammer and we also ate in the Main Dining room (Mirage) and the food and service were good. I felt that the staff were very professional and polite - but beware of the staff that are selling drinks. They will even ask the children if they want any drinks (non alcohol) and charge it on their card without asking for approval from the parents. After we made a complaint to the head waiter - they took off the charges. My 12 year old son really enjoyed himself and just mostly played basketball, and shuffleboard. They had a room on the 11th floor for the kids to play some Playstation games on the big screen TV. Sorrento's Pizza was quite good and the midnight buffet was awesome and served from tacos to a roast pig (it was great).

My previous cruise was on Norwegian Sky to Alaska and they didn't have anything like this. I really credit RCL for the good selection of food. The Sorrento's Pizza was good - but don't order pizza for room service because you are not getting the same pizza.

Bahamas was okay - but very expensive. You can haggle your price down to take a group tour of the island for about 15.00 a person. The tour will take about 2 hours.

Coco Cay is a very nice island and a good place to just lay out in the sun to relax. I couldn't stand all the heat and quickly went back to the boat after eating. I really wanted to ride the wave runner - but for $89.00 for 50 minutes was too much for me to spend for such a short time. But, when you are on vacation - sometimes you may want to splurge some. Thanks for reading
