My second time on Sovereign of the Seas was better than my
first. I traveled with a group of friends and we all stayed in the same
stateroom.
The first day on ship was a little boring, but still fun. We mainly relaxed and
talked. We had second seating at dinner, which is better than first (I had first
seating on my previous voyage). You don't feel as rushed and you still have
plenty time after dinner to do things.
The stateroom was a little small with four girls in it, but we were only there
to sleep and shower, so it was bearable. We requested more hangers for the
closet and our stateroom attendant, Jorge, brought us more later in the day.
The Bahamas was great. Don't waste your money on a tour, take one yourself. We
took a cab for $4 over to Paradise Island and Atlantis and walked around most of
the day. We even got to see what a $25,000 a night suite looked like because of
a generosity of a maid. We didn't ask to go in, but she let us in none the less.
The room was beyond gorgeous and the view was spectacular.
We took a $3 ferry ride back to Nassau and went through the straw market. Didn't
stay long, you can feel claustrophobic really quickly. If you try, you can get
good bargains, but be careful or you may come home with bags full of useless
stuff.
The food on board was great! I tend to be a picky eater, but could always find
something I loved.
The Love and Marriage show on the second night was hilarious. Shane, the cruise
director, was a fabulous host and kept the night rolling.
CocoCay was great. We went snorkeling and saw a plane wreck. The water was
freezing, but you get over that quickly. The barbecue was also good on the
island. The only problem I had on the island was the huge line that I had to
wait in to get on the tender to get back to the ship.
I loved my time, but the only gripe I have is beverage choices. Lemonade, tea
and other beverages were offered for free from room service, but you have to pay
to get some fresh water. And it's not cheap, I was desperate and paid $2.69 for
a bottle of water. Not worth it.
Overall, a great experience and I can't wait to go back.
