Cruise Line: Royal Caribbean
Ship: Sovereign of the Seas
Sailing Date: November 17th, 2003
Itinerary: Bahamas
Traveled with my 26 year old daughter and we had a
great time. However, have to qualify this statement with the fact that I
wouldn't choose to go on RCCL again - would definitely choose Celebrity or
Princess over RC. (I know - Celebrity is now owned by RC..).
In favor of the Sovereign. - the staff was simply outstanding! Room steward, wait staff, etc. were probably the best I have seen on all 8 cruises I've taken. In spite of the fact that this is an older ship, and showing its age, the common areas were well-kept and there was constantly a crew member cleaning something.
Food - mediocre, at best. Days at sea - Cocoa Cay was wonderful for us (we had great weather for the entire cruise), spent the day in Nassau at the public beach next to the Atlantis beach.
All in all, would recommend this cruise for those of you with less than a week to spare for a fun mini-vacation. Not high end - but also need to stress that we had a LOT of fun, as well as a number of other passengers that we spoke to...
