Began cruise very disappointed in the size of our cabin. It was soooo much smaller than the cabin we had on a competitors cruiseline. The ship really showed its age and lack of maintenance. Staff members were hit and miss on friendliness, some seemed glad we were there spending our money, others couldn't have cared less if we were there. We were under the false impression that paying way more for royal caribbean would entitle us to a better cruise experience. We were wrong! Activities were poorly managed, tendering to port was a major hassle with tickets and times, making it a gamble to get to excursion on time. We left each port late, really late. Any other cruiseline would have kept times true, especially the embarking, which was well over an hour late! Disembarking was a major pain, and policy of meeting at a "special" location was only so the rooms could be emptied to prepare for next cruise. The only bright spot was our cabin steward, who could not have been nicer.
In a word, AWFUL!!! Waitstaff in dinning room had to be asked to fill water glasses. Getting tea was like getting congress to pass a bill. There was little, if any flavor in any item. Meals one night could be found camoflauged the next night and named something different, examples include steamed vegetables which became cheesy vegetable medely, noodles became a horrifying dessert dish????, roast turkey became grilled turkey fillets with cream sauce. They couldn't even make bacon appealing, it was always a huge pan of balled up greasy chunks. Soda cards were a joke, just try to get a soda after you have paid for them in advance, I dare you. Does this ship employee a real chef or just a vocational food services graduate (or dropout)? Think I was poisoned and was in the small cabin bathroom for two days!
Small, small, really small. Our seventeen year old daughter slept above us in a drop down bed. Floor stained with who nows what and it smelled funny.
Never organized. Waited in line for bingo tickets, until we finally gave up. Weather was bad a couple of days and there was nothing for us to do. No activities were added for bad weather. Come on, there were over 3000 of us with nothing to do.
Cozumel: Nachi Cocum was a great deal booked (non) cruise good value and quiet, Capt Marvin for the Cayman sting ray city was great...2nd time booked through Shore Trips, Chukka zip line Jamaica was great booked through RC. Nice time and fun.
We will cruise again. We will not cruise again with Royal Caribbean!!!! Carnival costs less and the food is way better, cabin nicer too.
