Itinerary: Tioman and Redang

For us this was to be an R & R stopover, and we were happy to just relax onboard, apart from short visits to look at the resorts on each of the two islands. The crew on this ship are amazing, and have a good balance between youthful enthusiasm and professionalism. They seemed happy to assist in any way possible, though this may not be the case if the ship is full (only half of the cabins occupied on our trip) We hadn't realised that smoking was permitted in many of the public areas of the ship, and in the cabins, so probably would not have booked this cruise if we had known this.

The food (Indian, Chinese and Western) was excellent - good variety in Bella Vista and Mariners.

Outside cabin - was quite spacious, bathroom could do with a revamp - shower 'cosy'. Bed was comfortable, and cabin efficiently cleaned each day.

Room for improvement here. No clubs near the golf nets, and no staff around to ask about whereabouts of clubs. Some of the advertised entertainment did not take place having caught the last few minutes of their act we later waited several times for the trio at Maxims, but they did not appear) Theatre shows varied; several put on by the crew and were good. All credit to them for showing their talent. Other shows we saw were quite good also.

If you are affected by cigarette smoke, this is definitely not the cruise for you. Smoking is also permitted in the cabins so smell can be very strong. Smoking allowed in the bar areas too.

It was a stop-over break between two long-haul flights so we weren't expecting to have an action-packed trip. There's not a lot to do at either Tioman or Redang islands unless you are keen to try snorkelling or scuba diving. Getting on/off the tenders well organised by the crew, but the haze during all three days of the cruise meant that we didn't see much scenery.

There were few Europeans on board, but we had enjoyable talks with some of the passengers we sat near.
