Itinerary: Marvellous Countries/coasts

Well, what can we say. The staff onboard Sunbird are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble for them. They sing, dance and despite their very long hours - they always have a smile on their faces and plenty of time to make you feel very pampered. Despite being a lovely ship, Sunbird is very tired. The communial areas are very nice but the cabins are of a very low standard, with very old fixtures and fittings (bathroom door was riddled with rust). The cabin stewards are fantastic - keeping the cabins as clean as possible. We were on A Deck with a picture window, so felt fortunate as a number of people on inside cabins were requesting cabin changes as they felt claustrophobic. Watch out for the TV shelf though - it is placed just at head height and caused many injuries! Once you look past the cabins (as you do spend very little time in them), you will have a fantastic time. We toured Tunis (beware of the over keen shop keepers!), Rome, Florence & Pisa (beware of gipsys and pickpockets at Pisa), Monaco & Monte Carlo and Barcelona. Think carefully about getting tickets for the Bus Turistic in Barcelona, we were one of 3 ships in that day and we paid 16E each for a one day ticket but didn't use it as the queues for the buses were so long - take the shore excursion for Barcelona, you'll get to see more!

Overall, a fantastic holiday and we would cruise on Sunbird again.
