We had Penthouse suite, which meant we had
a balcony and a butler. We booked some months before departure, as this was a
birthday treat for me. We thought the staff we excellent, which is what we would
expect, and our butler, Nicholas, was also very helpful as we were spoilt with
breakfast and afternoon tea in our cabin every day, but were disappointed with
the balcony. It was supposed to be private, and it wasn't. There were gates
leading from one balcony to another, which meant that anyone with a balcony
could open their gate, and walk through to the next balcony. We called at
Naples, Sicily, Malta, Tunisia and Menorca, the last stop being our favourite.
Overall, we were pleased with the cruise, the staff were excellent, the food was
good: the only fly in the ointment was the non-private balcony!! We would travel
on the Sunbird again, but perhaps not in any of the Penthouse suites.
