Gary Tremlett Age: 36 This was our first cruise and weren't sure what to expect, on arrival in Barbados the ship looked huge, but compared to some of the other ships we saw, the sundream is a baby. However, it is adequate for the price we paid. The food is very good and plentiful, the waiter service is outstanding and little touches like the whole waiter crew singing together as the spice boys made mealtime that little bit special. There were five or six course meals that on first impressions seemed small, but are more than adequate when the end of the meal comes. We asked for extra chips (us being English) The cabins are small, but adequate. We only slept there so it was fine, as A deck is a little noisy, I used earplugs so it was ok. There was a flood on our third night, some Canadian left his taps running and it flooded five cabins. The staff promptly replaced the carpets, dried out the rooms and gave us wine and chocolate covered strawberries as a "I am sorry" for the inconvenience. Chocoholics night is a must , it is a
little late at 1130 pm, but well worth seeing if you don't fancy stuffing
your face with endless cakes and chocolate covered fruit so late. The
entertainment is for the older passengers, I found but they did have an
excellent comedian one evening. I'm not really into bingo etc., but some
of the shows were very entertaining. Especially the passenger stars in
your eyes type show. The casino is adequate, but I am not very lucky so it
was rather a expensive hour a night treat. The ship is a little tatty but
it is quite old now and the Philippino staff constantly clean and paint
everything. Overall, I would rate the whole experience a nine plus out of
ten, and it really was one of my best holidays and the staff really made
the holiday very enjoyable. If your a first timer with limited budget go
for it. I promise you wont regret it. |
