First part of the cruise cancelled; high water. Much more bus riding than cruising. The destinations, tour guides, and staff were fantastic. The ship was quite nice and comfortable. Top deck closed most of the time due to low bridges. The average daily high temp. F, and passenger age, was under 100, but neither by much. PBS ads show svelte, Saks & Ralph Lauten 40-50 something's, sipping wine & cruising past lovely scenery. Reality is much older & tackier!

Taste of Provence and a couple of other meals were very fine. Everything else was very ordinary. Lunch at the Hotel Mercure in Beaune was horrible. Wine served with meals on the ship was Brand X and uninteresting. Service and tables were exceptionally nice.

Small, but comfortable and beautifully kept.

Excellent lectures, music, bar service.

Wonderful destinations & guides. Lots of long bus rides. Endless geriatric rest room stops.

Paris add-on; very plain Hotel Meridien Etoile. Very little daytime cruising. Lots of time tied up at dock. Loved Dijon, Lyon, Beaune, Tournon, Perouges, Cluny, Vienne, Viviers, Arles and Avignon. Long bus rides to some stops, though. The staff worked very hard to make it a great time. Viking appears to cater to a very senior Middle America clientele. Might go again for the nice destinations.
