Excellent ship, a good value, particularly when compared against Carnival. the vision is a perfectly sized ship- large, but not like what most cruise lines are building now- there are lots of public areas indoors with lots of glass and views to the outside, vs. newer ships that sacrafice that to add hundreds of balconies and take on an almost apartment building like design. Service is great- though maybe unusually so because they had extra crew they were training for another ship being launched. We had a suite- very nice, plenty of space for four.

Good itinerary- though there isn't much to see in Mazatlan, where you may as well just stay on the ship. The gym is nice but too small and things were broken- I've read reviews from six months ago saying the same thing. Don't order a margarita- bartenders on RCCL consistently make them wrong- too much sweet/sour, tastes like junk. Spa is nice, massages good, though a bit pricey and they prop you up at the end to sell you overpriced spa products- tell them before you start that you don't want to hear it. Big bingo jackpot at end- don't expect to win it until the last day- number of draws limited to force a big final game on the last day (only). Casino is tight- nobody seemed to win anything.

Food was excellent, though RCCL doesn't seem to know how to make good deserts. Wine list was ok, though they fired all of their wine stewards and you have to deal with a busboy or waiter to get a bottle- not ideal. Kids club is ok up until about age 10, then its too unstructered. Shows are ok. I'd highly recommend this cruise- we've taken other RCCL and Carnival cruises- consistently, Carnival has seemed like a Motel 6 and RCCL much better, like a Sheraton or Hilton. Know that Carnival now owns Princess and Holland- never tried those but our agent says that they're better than Carnival.
