 Wind Star Cruise Line

Windstar Cruises' first "sail cruiser", the Wind Star, was launched in 1986 after more than three years of planning and construction. Not a classic tall ship but a modern cruise liner with sails, the Wind Star and her two sister vessels feature computer-operated sails and a smart-casual environment. In 1988, Windstar Cruises was acquired by Holland America Line, and in 1998 the company purchased its largest sail cruiser, the Wind Surf, from Club Med Cruises.
