It all started over a half century ago with a sailor's dream and a "hangover." Since then, Cap'n Mike has dedicated himself to providing exciting and fun-filled cruises to land lubbers and ol' salts alike. Everything he's learned in the past 50 years went into Legacy, combining all the comforts of home with the classic feel of traditional tall ships.

Excerpts from Windjammer's Website The newest member and flagship to the Windjammer fleet, this four-masted Barquentine was formerly known as France II. Built in 1959 by Forges et al Meditterranee of Le Havre, France, she served as a meteorological research and exploration vessel for the French Government. She was acquired in 1998 by Windjammer and converted into a traditional tall ship. Expert craftsmanship is apparent in the hand-carved exotic South American woods, custom-designed interiors and fixtures, and spacious accommodations. With its state-of-the-art navigations and communications systems, Legacy blends nautical tradition with modern amenities.
