Christina Johnston; Southern Caribbean
Excerpts from Windjammer's Website Built in 1927, Cressida, was one of the only armor plated private yachts in the world. Confiscated during World War II as a war prize, she was later acquired by the Vanderbilts and renamed Pioneer. Racing off Newport Beach, Pioneer was considered one of the fastest tall ships on the west coast. In 1965, she joined the Windjammer fleet and was christened Yankee Clipper. Completely restored to her former majesty and beauty, her modern comforts enhance the nautical heritage and seafaring traditions of yesterday. Ask a Question About Windjammer Barefoot Cruises
