Overall the cruise was AWESOME.
We took the Carnival Destiny in May of this year. Destiny is newer and larger
but we actually liked the layout of Sensation better. The decor was a bit
outrageous but we got used to it.
Room:
The room was comfortable. Showed a little age with the bed linens but was very
comfortable. We had an oceanview on the Empress deck. Compared to an inside
cabin the room is the same size just ..... has a window.
Food:
We did not care for the buffet dining, it was often cold and not that great. The
dining room was always good though. The Pizza is wonderful and 24 hrs a day! You
have to wait though for specific pizzas which was fine with me.
Entertainment:
Well we hung out in the disco every night. Had a blast! The horse race was a
must do. Talent show was ok. The "legend" show was fun. They ask for people on
the ship to volunteer. The vegas style show was great. They cancelled our last
show because the sea was rough.
Stability:
Well we didn't get ill but the last day/night was pretty rough. They said 10 ft.
waves and we definitely felt it! Lots were ill. We heard that she was going into
drydock to work on the stabalizers.
PORTS:
Grand Cayman: We used Native Way Watersports (look them up online). They
picked us up where we arrived on the island. Then snorkeling with the stingrays
and a small reef. The guides were AWESOME! We saw a morey eel, lobster, and tons
of stingrays! Lots of life on the reef. GET THIS: WE ONLY PAID $25 PER PERSON
for the tour. The ship charges lots more!
Cozumel:
Well someone got ill onboard so we had to turn around and go back
to Grand Cayman and we arrived on Cozumel 6 hours late. Kind of bad because we
only had a few hours of sunlight. We took a cab (which is right when you get
thru the shops at the dock) to chakanaab park. Its decent, just snorkel off the
beach. $10 to get in. We had our own snorkel gear. We really wanted to go to
Tulum but didn't have time. We then went to Carlos and Charlies for a drink. Was
fun but no where near as much fun as the Carlos and Charlies in Aruba.
OVERALL IT WAS AWESOME. Out of 3 cruises this was the most fun so far! Can't
wait to go again. Carnival does such a great job to keep you entertained!
