On our first Alaska cruise it was noteworthy to me that, on our morning cruising down a fjord to see a glacier, there was a distinct lack of noise from the passengers. Everyone was so peaceful and quiet. It was like we were in a house of worship with the high mountains all around us, the glacier approaching in the distance, seals and otters on either side of us. I had one of the best senses of well-being I've ever experienced that morning. I also realized how insignificant I was to the grandeur of the planet. It really was a time for reflection.
But then again it could have been the hot chocolate with a couple shots of amaretto in it.
