I get them confused, also, and may have also confused some pax on Carnival Elation a couple of weeks ago. While I was getting into line for our early seating dining, someone asked me if it was the line to wait for a table. To be sure I was understanding her properly, I asked if she was on Anytime Dining. She said she'd never heard of that -- so after my quick explanation, she said she was, and I directed her to the other line.
I actually think it's more important to know the distinctions between the terms used for traditional dining times between lines. For instance, Carnival has early and late dining; HAL calls them early and main; Royal Caribbean uses main and second (at least according to their Web site).
