I would think a small child very easily could pinch an arm or leg in a small gap. I thought the cribs used on the ships were smaller, soft sided collapsible ones. If Carnival can put a cot in a cabin for a fifth passenger, then I think NCL can put a collapsible crib in a cabin. Space may be tight at night but it's put away during day. I would think it's much safer than the other alternatives.
