Yes, it is about money. If the cruise line wasn't making money off drinks, photos, etc. then they would have to raise the cost of the cruise. You wouldn't be finding 7-day cruises for $499. The subject of "smuggling" booze on the ship comes up so much on this site. Frankly, I don't understand why some are so obsessed with having to do it. The drink prices on most cruises are very reasonable and no more than any bar/restaurant in a major city. Would they try "smuggling" booze into a bar/restaurant for the evening? The cruise lines have to make money somewhere.
