Welcome to cruise-chat. I've had the corner aft cabins a few times on "Voyager" class ships. As a matter of fact, I have one on deck 8 on the Liberty in October. I asked for it. Your balcony will be bigger than the average balcony,and you will have a great view. I never had an issue with soot.
