We returned recently from the East + West Caribbean cruise on the Norwegian Spirit and had a wonderful time. This was our first cruise so we have nothing to compare it to but would certainly sail with NCL again.

We had an outside cabin with a balcony which provided a lovely quiet spot to sit. The cabin was more than adequate and spotlessly clean. The staff throughout the ship were cheerful, friendly and polite with a phenomenal knack of remembering names , even after only one meeting.

The restaurants were all excellent and worth the extra few dollars for the specialty restaurants. The only place we didn`t eat in was the buffet - we`re not great lovers of buffet food. However, it was obviously popular.

The shows were fantastic every night and the entertainers full of enthusiasm. Laundry was inexpensive and returned promptly. Room-service was always swift and efficient.Ice was delivered several times each day and the coffee maker was fine.

The public rooms on board are beautifully maintained - everything anyone could possibly need was provided with a smile.

We didn`t go on any organised excursions but chummed up with other passengers to share taxis. This was a much better option for us - cheaper and you can see exactly what you want to. Each of the ports of call was interesting and when the weather turned too choppy to tender in to Grand Caymen we went to Cozumel instead, which was wonderful.

Embarkation and disembarkation was so easy. Even queuing for customs clearance wasn`t too much of a chore.

All in all, a terrific trip. Highly recommended.
