A sad situation.
The deck plans of the Freedom of the Seas, as shown on the RCCL website, look to be the same unfortunate and certainly obstructed design.
A pity indeed.
Our first choice, on any cruise line, is always the aft balcony staterooms; we are grateful for the Radiance-class vessels.
