My wife and I are considering a cruise in April aboard Royal Carribean's Sovereign of the Seas. This will be our first cruise. We're pretty excited, but want to make sure that we're making the right decision. The ports-of-call include Nassau and Coco Cay. It sails out of Port Canaveral. A few questions:

1. The ship appears to be "old" (relatively speaking, launched in 1988); has it been sufficiently refurbished? Any drawbacks to it's age?

2. Are there fun things to do at the ports-of-call?

3. It looks like the best thing to do to get there is to fly in to Orlando; is there a way to get to Port Canaveral without having to rent a car?

Thanks so much for any and all advice!
